Neuroanatomical Markers

This feature allows you to retrieve a list of genes that are markers of a given structure, or of multiple structures.
To use this feature follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Find your structure(s) of interest by either clicking on the arrow to the left of a checkbox, or clicking “Expand all” to view all structures.
  • Step 2: Clicking on a checkbox next to a structure of interest (once for +, twice for -, and thrice for * wild-card markers) retrieves markers of multiple (all) selected structures.(see Note 1)
  • Step 3: Press the search button to retrieve gene list. On the Marker Search Results Page, your selected structure(s) will appear in the first columns; other structures that gene(s) are markers of appear in subsequent columns.
  • Step 4: Click on the +, -, or * symbols within any shaded field to open the marker in situ image in the Image Browser.
  • Step 5: Click on the “Labels” button to view marker labels.

  • Notes:
Note 1: Enter '*' in a checkbox next to an Unknown structure category (3 successive clicks).
